Leuven

I've realized that in all the blogs about our trips that I haven't included much about the city we live in.  Here's my collection of photos from Leuven.

This is the ornate city hall.  It's one of the most impressive buildings in the city.
This Castle is just south of where we live it now houses part of the engineering and architecture schools.
A view of the same Castle showing the river in front.

Some winter scenes around the Castle
The roads in town are ruled by bikes during the school year - they even have special lights for bike lanes.
The canals in Leuven are often full of ducks - I've only seen one duck like this one though.
This golden man chimes the bells every quarter hour from the top of the church in the central town market place.  The boys get a kick out of catching him in action.
This statue is in the center of town.  Supposed to show knowledge pouring into the students head.  The other kids with our boys are Elizabeth and Josh who stopped in for a visit from Copenhagen.
